Diesel engine is an internal combustion engine that uses diesel as fuel. It works on the four-stroke working principle: intake, compression, power and exhaust.
Different from gasoline engines, diesel engines adopt compression ignition. There is no spark plug. Air is highly compressed inside the cylinder to reach a high temperature; diesel fuel is then injected and automatically ignites.
